Description:
Sugarcane Pose is a variation on Half Moon Pose, Ardha Chandrasana, that throws in a backbend for good measure (as if balancing weren't hard enough already). Like all balance postures, this is excellent for providing a grounding effect on our minds, toning and strengthening the feet, ankles, and legs, while strengthening the back and opening the hips with the added asymmetrical backbend. Jean Marie guides us through an exploration of this pose, starting with some foundational preparatory work in Triangle Pose (Utthita Trikonasana}, moving through variations of Ardha Chandrasana, and finally opening up to the full pose of the day.
